The new sports hall for the 'Nic Biever' High school in Dudelange is situated quite close to an old industrial site. Given its somewhat unwelcoming environment, the building seems closed to the outside, but then surprisingly transparent on the inside, with its open circulations towards the hall. The inside street on the ground floor level can be transformed into a supplementary platform during the sport activities. The life of this street then adds to the play that is happening underneath. The architectural language is quite clear, which is achieved by the reduced number of the applied materials. The apparent austerity of the floors and walls in concrete is in contrast with the structure in wood, white ceilings and particular white wall finishing.
